Pro Complex Optimum Review

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

During the last 15 years I have tried several different protein powders with varying results. Some have been great and I still use them today, while others I regret even subjecting my shaker bottle to. Of the various powders that I have used I found success with Optimum Nutrition Pro Complex. It’s a great maintenance protein that helped me maintain the gains I worked long and hard for in the gym. I have found that working my butt off in the gym is only half of the battle while the other half is proper nutrition.

Champion Pure Casein Review

Thursday, October 1st, 2009

I’ve been working out for over 17 years and have achieved a lot of success. What has really helped me to transform my body has been combining hard work and excellent nutrition and supplementation. I’ve tried dozens of protein powders mostly which have been whey protein, but my gains really increased when I started taking Pure Casein by Champion Nutrition. Whey has been the most popular protein and gets most of the attention, but it doesn’t meet all of the body’s needs in terms of muscle growth and maintenance.

Whey protein absorbs quickly into your body and is great for a post-workout protein, but what about all of the countless hours that occur long after you have worked out? Your body still needs to be properly fueled with protein to avoid muscle breakdown. That’s where casein protein comes in. Unlike fast absorbing whey protein, casein is time released and gives the body a consistent stream of amino acids lasting up to 7 hours!

It is made up of a special timed release protein blend of calcium caseinate, potassium caseinate, casein hydrolysates and glutamine peptides. With this advanced formulas your body will never be in a catabolic state starving for protein.

Pure Casein can be taken in between meals as well as right before bedtime. Night time can be a bodybuilder’s and athlete’s worst nightmare if because the body can go into a catabolic state. Catabolism is the state that the body goes into when it is not given enough protein. Nitrogen levels plummet and the body starts eating away at existing muscle tissue. The result of catabolism is decreased muscle tissue and loss of strength. In other words you lose all of the gains you worked so hard for in the gym.

By taking a serving of Champion Nutrtion Pure Casein right before bed you avoid this catabolic nightmare and your body is fueled while you sleep. You wake up refreshed, charged up and feeling strong!

Literally hundreds, if not thousands, of supplements have come and gone over the last few years. But one supplement has been tried tested and proven to work, and that is protein. Protein should be the number one supplement in your regimen because without it you cannot grow and maintain muscle mass. If you want to experience massive gains of size and strength like I did then Champion Pure Casein is something you need.

It is recommended that strength training athletes take approximately 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. It’s virtually impossible to eat that much protein from whole food sources. Most people do not have the time, money or appetite to eat that much. Pure Casein makes it convenient and easy to get the proper nutrition you need to look and perform your best in the gym, at home and at the office.

Each delicious serving of Champion Pure Casein delivers 120 calories, only 1.5 grams of fat, only 3 grams of carbs and a substantial 23 grams of protein. It also mixes easily and tastes great. My preferred method is mixing it with ice and milk so that it comes out cold and creamy just like a milk shake.

True Mass BSN Review

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

All my life I was called the skinny kid. In high school I weighed 130 pounds soaking wet and it seemed like all of the other guys were growing and getting bigger while I was staying the same. I started working out and lifting weights and my strength increased a lot, but I couldn’t gain weight. It seemed I was a victim of a super fast metabolism. I resigned to the fact that there was nothing I could do to pack on muscle and I was prepared to be “the skinny guy” for the rest of my life.

Lean Body for Her Review

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

Lean Body for Her by Labrada is a convenient and easy to use meal replacement powder that I have been using to supplement my diet and shed a few extra pounds. Meal replacement powders are a simple way to increase protein in your diet and allow you more control as to what goes in your body. Labrada has this system down to a science and provides an exact ratio of protein, carbs, vitamins, minerals, and essential amino acids. I love the convenience of this supplement because nutrients and vitamins are something I usually overlook when on a diet, but will never do so with Lean Body for Her. This great tasting meal replacement is a concentrated glass of the finest food nutrients.

Isopure Zero Carb, Natures Best

Friday, September 25th, 2009

I recently got serious about working out and through word of mouth at the gym, I ended up purchasing my first tub of Isopure Zero Carb protein powder. I have been carb sensitive in the past and have a difficult time losing weight when I don’t restrict my carbohydrates, so this supplement seemed a perfect fit for me.

New Whey Protein Shots Review

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Trying to get fit and stay fit has been one of the biggest challenges in my life. I work well over 40 hours most weeks and also have to try and balance spending time with my wife and kids. Most of the time good nutrition is not on my mind.

American Soy Review

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

I recently switched from using a tub of whey protein to American Soy by ASN because I needed something a bit easier on my stomach, and am glad I did. More than relieving the occasional stomach cramping, I am seeing some great physical results. My body looks stronger and leaner, and the only thing I have changed is my protein source. I look and feel great! American Soy is a protein powder I will use for the long haul.

Multi Pro Whey Review

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

For the last 15 years I’ve been involved with exercise and nutrition varying degrees. At times I’ve been in great shape with a body fat percentage as low as 5% and others where I let myself go and my body fat went as high as 25%. In high school I weighed in at a 130 pounds dripping wet. In college I got up to over 200 pounds, which is obese for some of my height (5’7”). I finally decided to get serious again about nutrition and exercise again and am proud to say I weigh in at a buff 170 pounds with 6% body fat. I could attribute it all to me working my butt off in the gym but that wouldn’t be true. A lot of my success goes to utilizing Multi Pro Whey protein by IDS. I’ve tried a ton of different protein powders over the years and there are just as many bad ones as there are good. The reason IDS Multi Pro Whey is different is because of what the pros at IDS put into the formula.

Dymatize Elite Whey Review

Sunday, September 13th, 2009

I was looking to add some muscle to my body without fat, weight gain, or unnecessary carbohydrates. I was able to do so, by incorporating Elite Whey into my diet. I had about 8-12 pounds of fat to shed, and wanted to replace that with lean muscle mass and density and I have succeeded by intense lifting and cardio accompanied with Dymatize’s unique protein formula. Elite Whey is comprised of high quality protein which makes it a leader in dietary protein powders and supplements.

Muscle Milk Powder Review

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

I just finished my Muscle Milk Powder tub by Cytosport and had to let the world in on my experience. I am thoroughly impressed with the results and excited to share the benefits I have received. I had heard of Muscle Milk from the people I work out with at the gym, but focused mainly on the rumor that it was made from components of breast milk. Boy was I wrong and am now kicking myself for not trying this protein supplement sooner.
